This Biology course is a challenging, in-depth study of chemistry in living organisms. It provides a strong foundation for those students who choose to pursue advanced biology. Students will be applying their understanding of chemistry and physics to living systems. They will continue to develop their science practice skills of modeling, constructing explanations, planning and carrying out investigations, and engaging in argument from evidence. They will explore how glucose produced through photosynthesis is a building block of macromolecules, how DNA codes for proteins, how the interactions of body systems at the molecular level and how natural selection is driven by the genetic makeup of a population.
