Chamber Orchestra is a rewarding strings-based ensemble open to any high school student who has an average of three years experience on a violin, viola, cello, or double bass. Through the study of a wide variety of repertoire students further develop and refine their understanding of music reading, self-expression, and technical proficiency in ensembles large and small. This ensemble performs many times throughout the school year including formal concerts, festivals, and other special events. Students are also given the opportunity to audition for and travel with the AMIS Honor Orchestra. Admittance into the Chamber Orchestra is determined by audition and/or authorization from the director. This is a yearlong course and it may be repeated for credit.
