Core Design and Innovation - Digital Media (previously Digital Art) is an energetic, hands-on introduction to the creative tools and technologies shaping today's design world. In this semester course, students explore the foundations of digital creativity through digital media tools (ie: Photoshop, Illustrator, etc), while also discovering how digital ideas can become physical creations using tools such as the laser cutter and 3D printers. From remixing and enhancing images to designing original graphics, students build skills that mirror real workflows in contemporary design and visual communication. Alongside digital production, students experiment with transforming their digital work into tangible pieces; strengthening both their digital fluency and creative confidence. By the end of the course, students will have experienced the full journey of an idea: from concept → digital design → physical output. This course is perfect for all makers, and photography is a great course to take prior to Digital Media, but not required.
