Individualized Mathematics Studies provides the opportunity for students to explore many areas of math, that may include topics such as ratios, the number system, expressions, geometry, and statistics, based around the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics, in combination with each student’s individualized learning goals which modify the curriculum to meet their specific learning needs. Students dive into hands-on explorations of the aforementioned topics through real-life applications of mathematical thinking such as estimations, money and budgeting, shapes and fractions, problem-solving, fluency with operations, and understanding of place value. Individualized Mathematics Studies meets every learner at their individualized level and fosters an excitement for mathematical problem-solving and exploration in today’s modern society.
