The ASD Creative Arts program provides a variety of opportunities for students to enroll in electives that help to cultivate a lifetime appreciation, enjoyment and love of performing and visual arts. Middle School electives include dance, music, visual arts, drama, choir, and band. Students also have the opportunity to participate in after school, extra-curricular activities such as performing for the community in concerts, musicals, plays, variety shows, and art shows.
International memberships and opportunities
Creative Arts students participate in the Middle East South Asia Conference (MESAC) Fine Arts Festival and Debate and Forensics competitions. Each year students travel in the region to display and perform their art, collaborate with other international students and compete in various disciplines of performing arts and debate with schools from India, Oman, Qatar, and the UAE.
ASD is also a member of the Association for Music in International Schools (AMIS). AMIS promotes excellence in the arts and provides students an opportunity refine their skills and to collaborate with students from around the world. ASD students travel to Europe, Asia and in the Middle East to participate in choir, band and orchestra festivals at various levels.
