New Elementary School Students

Welcome to the ASD Family!

We’re thrilled to have you join our vibrant elementary school community!

Our Beliefs in the Elementary School

At ASD, we are committed to educating the whole child. We foster a learning environment rooted in respect, where every child is valued and our core school values—compassion, excellence, integrity, respect, and responsibility—guide everything we do.

We see children as resilient, capable, and curious learners, full of potential and wonder. We honor and celebrate their growth, strengths, and diverse backgrounds.

We also recognize the richness that diversity brings to our school. Each family's unique culture and perspective is deeply valued and adds to the fabric of our community.

Learning at ASD

While schedules vary by grade level, all students engage in meaningful learning across core academic areas—literacy, math, social studies, and science—and participate in a wide range of specialist subjects including art, music, physical education, STEAM, Arabic, counseling, and library.

We aim to spark joy in learning, nurture creativity, and encourage curiosity as we support each child's academic, social, and emotional growth.

Welcome to the Elementary School and see you in August!

How to Make the Most of Summer

Here are some simple ways to keep your family engaged, balanced, and ready for the new school year:

  • Read and Explore: Help your child stay curious over the summer. Visit your local library or browse online resources together. Choose books that spark interest and inspire learning.

  • Create a Routine: While summer is a time for relaxation, gentle structure—like regular meal and bedtimes—can help children feel secure and balanced.

  • Stay Active: Make the most of the outdoors! Whether it’s biking, swimming, hiking, or dancing around the living room—moving together builds both health and happiness.

  • Connect with Nature: Spend time in green spaces, visit a park, or simply go on a nature walk. Time outside can help everyone reset and recharge.

  • Unplug to Reconnect: Take a break from screens and enjoy focused time together. Try a tech-free day with games, storytelling, or a family outing.

  • Give Back: Volunteering as a family is a meaningful way to build empathy and connection. Explore opportunities to support your community this summer.

  • Try Something New: Encourage your child to explore a new hobby, sport, or creative pursuit. New experiences can spark confidence and joy.

  • Set Personal Goals: Whether it’s finishing a book series, learning to ride a bike, or practicing a skill, setting and reaching goals builds a sense of achievement.

  • Practice Self-Care: Rest, nutritious food, play, and time to relax are essential. Model and encourage simple habits that support well-being.

  • Make Memories: Most of all, cherish this time together. Take photos, plan fun outings, and savor the small moments that become lasting memories.
