Arts

With a rich selection of art offerings both during and beyond the school day, ASD students are encouraged to explore, create, and perform across a wide spectrum of artistic disciplines. As skills develop, students cultivate a lasting appreciation for the arts and an aesthetic sensibility that stays with them long after their time at ASD.

Every division offers a vibrant range of visual and performing arts opportunities. From dance to visual arts and theater, learners are encouraged to explore their interests and grow their talents. Middle School students can choose from 14 different Performing Arts courses including Band, Choir, courses, including Band, Choir, Strings, Dance, Drama, and Film. As students transition into High School, they have the chance to deepen their artistic pursuits through advanced coursework in Dance, Choir, Band, Orchestra, and Theater.

A culture of arts participation is cultivated across all divisions at ASD, inspiring students to explore music from the earliest years through graduation. This intentional pathway leads to exceptional engagement, with approximately 85% of High School students participating in band or choir, many having started in lower grades. The result is a vibrant, sustained program where students deepen their skills, confidence, and artistic identity throughout their school years.
