The Advanced Low 2 offers students with a high level of proficiency in Arabic/French/Spanish, either as a heritage language, or gained through schooling in the target language, the opportunity to continue their world language learning for a second year at the Advanced Low level. Students continue to engage in a variety of informal and formal conversations on topics of personal, community and global interest. They build their presentational skills, narrating and describing in the major time frames of past, present, and future, combining and linking sentences into connected discourse of paragraph length with sufficient accuracy, control and clarity to convey their intended message. They also explore literature in the target language.
Students can converse comfortably with others from the French/Hispanic/Arabic culture in familiar and some unfamiliar situations and show some understanding of cultural differences. They can also demonstrate awareness of subtle differences among cultural behaviors and adjust their behavior accordingly in familiar and some unfamiliar situations.
