Feb. 1, 2012 Third and fourth grade students shine on stage to help fight illiteracy and poverty.
Instrumentalists, dancers, singers, and comedy and magic acts kept audiences well entertained this Wednesday afternoon, as grade 3 and grade 4 students did their part to help in the fight against poverty and illiteracy. All proceeds from concessions stand sales and ticket sales to the Grade 3 and Grade 4 Talent Show—over DHS 3,000—will go to ASD-supported charities, Room2Read and SEENAH.
Room2Read partners with local communities throughout the developing world to establish schools, libraries, and other educational infrastructure. SEENAH suports underpriviledged communities in their effort to become sustainable through economics, education, and nutrition and health, with initial focus on Ehtiopia, Uganda, and Pakistan. |
