V/JV Boys/Girls Cross Country Invitational

Falcon runners had a fantastic first meet, competing against runners from DAA and ACS. Nearly all runners on the team ran personal best times, some by as much as 4 minutes. Although there was no official award ceremony for this meet, ASD runners came in first for all categories and represented ASD well with their sportsmanship and athleticism. 

V/Girls Basketball Win over DAA

The Varsity Girls hit the ground running today against their cross-town rival, DAA. Strong team work, some great dribbling and drives, and amazing post moves allowed ASD to pull away from a tie and go on to win the game, 31-28.

V/Girls Soccer in Tough Game vs. UAS

In their first game of the season on January 12, ASD faced off against a tough squad from UAS. Although ASD dominated much of the competition, our shots ended up just off target with two shots hitting the post and one ball nearly crossing the goal line. The varsity girls ended up losing the match 1-0.

After a tough game against UAS, the Varsity Boys took the lead and held it with a final score of 1-0 after regulation time.

JV Boys Basketball in Close Loss to GWA

Following a good first half, during which the Flacons led at half time 21-15, the JV team ran out of gas in the second half and fell behind late in the third quarter. Despite their fatigue the Falcons fought back in the fourth quarter and fell just short of winning the game in the final seconds, losing 38 - 39 to GWA.

U14 Boys Soccer vs. DIA: Cautious Start, Strong Finish; U14 Girls Soccer Play Hard but Lose to DIA

The U14 Boy's soccer team travelled to DIA to play in their first game of the season. The game started off with both teams playing cautiously.  It was not until late in the first half that the first goal of the game was scored by DIA.  Going into the second half, the team regrouped and battled back to tie the game half way through the second half. This gave our boys the momentum to score their 2nd and 3rd goal resulting in a hard fought win over DIA.

The U14 girls soccer played a great first game away from ASD today, but despite solid teamwork and determination, ended the match with a 1-0 loss to DIA.

V/B Soccer in Decisive Win vs. GWA

The Varsity Boys played hard and won in convincing fashion over GWA with a final score of 6-1.

JV Girls Soccer Win over GWA; JV Boys Soccer: Strong Showing Against GWA

ASD JV Girls Soccer had a decisive 4-0 victory over GWA. A slow first half was quickly turned around as the Falcon's put in 3 goals within the first 10 minutes of the second half. With a strong defensive line working hard to GWA's strikers in check, the JV girls held on to their 3-0 lead until a final goal was put in with 10 seconds left in the match.

The JV Boys played there first eight aside game against GWA today. The Falcons had a slow start in the first half but came back strong in the second, going on the offense with 2 goals while maintaining a strong defense. In the end, however, GWA captured the game, 3-2.

Boys Tennis vs. DAA

The boys ended with a 3-3 match score in this afternoon's friendly competition against DAA. Both teams scrambled their line-ups as they are preparing for MESAC team selections.
